SAUGERTIES – A Mount Marion
man was charged with reckless driving after losing control of his vehicle
on Glasco Turnpike in Saugerties and striking three pedestrians.
The incident occurred at 3 p.m. on Saturday as three New York City women were walking off the roadway.
Saugerties Police charged the driver, Mykel Binder, 18, with reckless driving, speed not reasonable and prudent, failure to use a designated lane, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
The injured were identified as Valerie Kissing, 28, of Brooklyn; Alexandra Katharina, 31, also of Brooklyn; and Jasmine Foerj, 31, of Queens Village. They were transported to Kingston’s Health Alliance Hospital by Diaz Ambulance. Katharina complained of a leg injury and Foerj complained of a back injury. There was no information about Kissing’s injuries.
A passenger in Binder’s vehicle, Elijah Pineiro-Zucker, 17, of Saugerties, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
