MIDDLETOWN – Plans to develop an Orange County Industrial Development Agency Accelerator program in Middletown are moving forward.
Initial plans are to locate medical-related software companies in a business incubator in the Touro medical college complex in the Horton building in the city, said IDA Chief Operating Officer Laurie Villasuso.
“Everybody is so excited because it is such a great synergy, not only with the City of Middletown, but also with the college being located in the same building, a focus on medical devices is such a natural fit,” Villasuso said. “It seems that the college is excited about having our presence nearby and certainly our entrepreneurs are excited about being so close to a medical campus.”
The Accelerator and city are also considering establishment of an incubator program at the former TD Bank building and former Woolworth building, both owned by the city.
