Dutchess deputies help save two overdose victims over weekend

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County deputies helped save two people who were experiencing life-threatening drug overdoses this past weekend.
On Friday at 11:30 p.m., deputies were called to Harvard Street in Red Hook for a report of an overdose. The male victim, who was unconscious, was administered two doses of Narcan at which point he regained consciousness and was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment.
On Sunday at 12:15 a.m., deputies responded to Route 82 in the Town of LaGrange for a call of an overdose. Officers found a woman, who was unconscious and not breathing, Narcan was administered along with CPR. The victim started breathing again and gained consciousness before being transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital for treatment.
In both cases, investigation revealed that heroin was the drug responsible for the overdoses and both are still under investigation.
