North Carolina murder suspect arrested, also wanted for crimes in Kingston

KINGSTON – A Bronx man was arrested in the Town of Poughkeepsie in connection with a murder in Fayetteville, North Carolina. On Tuesday, January 24, the Kingston City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted a joint operation with the US Marshal’s New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in the capture of Arthur Butler, Jr., 35.
He was also wanted by Kingston Police for criminal sale of a controlled substance and by New York State Division of Parole for a parole violation.
Butler was spotted at a Town of Poughkeepsie location and taken into custody without incident.  He was brought to Kingston Police headquarters where he was charged with murder, criminal sale of drugs and being a fugitive from justice.
Butler was sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
