NEW PALTZ – A New Paltz man is charged with stabbing his dog with a pair of pruning shears. The dog, which sustained injury to its hind leg during the incident at the home of Daniel Abbott on Pamal Lane, is recovering at the Ulster County SPCA’s Kingston location.
Abbott, 36, was charged with a misdemeanor under state Agriculture and Markets law with one count of unjustifiably injuring an animal. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to town court.
