GARDINER – A Village of Gardiner woman was charged by the Ulster County SPCA with 13 counts of failure to provide proper sustenance to her animals.
SPCA Executive Director Adam Saunders said Joy VanVlack Weis was charged with the misdemeanors under state Agriculture and Markets Law following a warrant search at her Dusinberre Road home.
Weiss allegedly failed to provide necessary medical care to her injured alpaca, and allowed her other animals to live in substandard conditions.  She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Gardiner Justice Court.
All seized animals are being held at the Ulster County SPCA’s Kingston facility.
