NEW WINDSOR – Individuals
meeting in person in New Windsor to exchange Internet goods or services
through websites now have a safe place to meet when making the exchange
or purchase.

The New Windsor Police Department has added itself to the growing number
of departments that have established an e-commerce exchange zone.

Many police departments around the country are establishing safe trading
zones for safer transactions for residents.

Police have designated two parking spaces in the front lot of the police
department at 555 Union Avenue that have 24-hour video surveillance for
people to use for safer transactions from websites like Craigslist, eBay
or local Facebook exchanges.

Anyone with problems or issues during the exchange may contact the police
dispatch at 845-565-7000.
