MIDDLETOWN – The Cuddebackville-based
Fei Tian College of Fine Arts is expanding on the Community Campus in
the City of Middletown.
Old buildings on the former state psychiatric center property have been
converted into student dormitories and other buildings are being repurposed
for student learning, said Mayor Joseph DeStefano.
“The high school, Fei Tian Academy, is open now. They have 100 students;
they are projected to have 500 students,” he said. “Fei Tian
College will be opening next year and they are creating another school
within a school. So have the school of media and fine arts. They are looking
at technology and other ways to pursue another school that might have
a medical component also.”
The college offers a bachelor of fine arts in classical Chinese dance
and a bachelor’s in music performance.
