Freezing drizzle brings roads to standstill

MID-HUDSON – A light freezing drizzle that overspread the region Monday afternoon into the evening resulted in several motor vehicle accidents.
A three-car crash on Tuytenbridge Road at Lake Katrine Road in East Kingston resulted in injuries.
Westbound Route 17 in the Chester area was at a standstill in the mid-afternoon because of icy conditions.
Another three-car crash at Crystal Run Road at Ballard Road in the Town of Wallkill resulted in injuries.
In the early evening police investigated a car crash on Route 52 in Montgomery
and an overturned vehicle on Pleasant Ridge Road in Dover resulted in
injury to the occupant.
In the Village of Florida, a car skidded into a utility pole on Round Hill Road.
In Pine Bush at around 7:13 p.m., a car skidded into water at Rainbow Lane and Route 52 and at 9 p.m., a vehicle overturned on Museum Village Road in South Blooming Grove.
Temperatures today are expected to warm considerably, perhaps reaching 50 degrees by late morning before plummeting by mid or late afternoon.
