Highland man sentenced to federal prison for distributing child pornography

ALBANY – A Highland man was sentenced in federal court in Albany on Monday to five years in prison and a lifetime term of supervised release for distributing child pornography.
As part of his sentence, Neil Rothfeder, 58, will be required to register
as a sex offender when released from prison.
As part of his July 6 plea, he admitted to emailing child pornography to others in 2012.
The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
