KINGSTON – This past weekend’s snow was gold to the ski resorts in Ulster County and around the region.
Skiing is a large part of the winter tourism season and Ulster Tourism Director Rick Remsnyder said the white stuff is welcomed news.
“Some people were a little disappointed last year with the lack of snow and cold weather and I know that Belleayre Mountain has to be tickled pink that we got some snow to start the season and the cold temperatures,” Remsnyder said. “I understand they are off to a fast start and I hope it continues throughout the winter because it is big part of our economic development.”
Ulster is a four-season county. The ski season is a major component of the tourist experience.
