TOWN OF CATSKILL – A man who was at a register at the Home Depot store on Greene County Route 23B in the Town of Catskill has been charged with reckless endangerment after a gun he had in his coat pocket fired one round.
The bullet exited the pocket and struck the floor. One employee was taken for medical treatment for a complaint of hearing loss.
The customer, Steven Weiner, 70, of Catskill, left the store, but was located by State Police about two hours later at a residence in the Village of Catskill.  The gun, which was recovered, was legally possessed by Weiner.
He was charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment and issued an appearance ticket to appear in town court at a later date.
