KINGSTON – Temperatures
later this week are not expected out of the teens with nighttime temps
near zero. As a result, Ulster County Executive Michael Hein announced
the county’s warming station will remain open through Saturday morning
at 7.
The warming center hosted by the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church at 122 Clinton Avenue in Kingston, will provide a warm shelter, a hot evening meal and breakfast as well as related services at the church between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m.
The center will be staffed by American Red Cross volunteers and will welcome homeless adults 18 and older.
“Our focus is simple: to be there to help someone who is down on their luck and has no place to turn in their moment of greatest need,” said Hein.
