POUGHKEEPSIE – A 65-year-old Millbrook man, a former mayor of the
village, has been committed to the Dutchess County Jail on bail on a charge
that he engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a person under the
age of 17.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Dutchess County Child Advocacy
Center and District Attorney’s Office arrested Donald Briggs on
Monday, December 12 in connection with a two-week investigation.
The victim is a non-family member.
Briggs was charged with two counts of criminal sexual act as felonies.
He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail
or $20,000 bond.
