Ulster home sales continue signs of growth

KINGSTON – Sales of existing
single-family homes in Ulster County are maintaining their growth pattern.
The number of homes sold and the average selling price increased in the
first 11 months of 2016.

With just one month of selling left to report, home sales rose from 1,259
during the January through November 2015 period to 1,453 during the same
time this year.

The average selling price rose during the same period from $231,744 to
$237,414, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors/Multiple Listing
Service.

The faster a home sells is also a sign of economic vitality and in 2016,
the average days on the market were 134, compared with 150 in 2015.

In November alone, there were 1,007 available listings, compared with
1,258 the year before, making home buying more competitive.
