Montrose man arrested following robbery attempt

CORTLANDT – State Police at Cortlandt, Village of Croton-on-Hudson Police, and Westchester County Police responded to a 911 call of an attempted robbery at the Super Food Town located at 2005 Albany Post Road in Croton-on-Hudson.  The call came in just after 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 25.
Upon arrival, interviews of witnesses revealed that a suspect had passed a note to a cashier threating the use of a firearm and demanding all the money in the register. The suspect fled prior to obtaining any money.
Following an extensive canvas of the area, he was soon located by Troopers and Croton Police officers hiding in a nearby brook. Following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.
Joshue Flores, 26, of Montrose, was charged with one felony count of third-degree attempted robbery. The investigation revealed that Flores was also linked to other criminal matters being investigated and additional charges are pending in the City of Peekskill and Village of Croton.
