Two Newburgh men arrested on weapons, drug charges

NEWBURGH – State Police at Montgomery announce the arrests two Newburgh men following a traffic stop. 
Justin Deines, 27, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, a felony), unlawful possession of marihuana and several vehicle and law violations including driving with a suspended license. 
Rayshawn Reynolds, 25, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, all felonies.

Troopers observed Deines operating his vehicle in violation of the New York State Traffic Law and initiated a traffic stop in the City of Newburgh.  Further investigation revealed that Deines had a suspended New York State Driver’s License and was also in possession of a glass smoking pipe containing marihuana.  A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a defaced .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun which was fully loaded.  The passenger, Rayshawn Reynolds, was found in possession of 140 bags of heroin, (packaged with intent to sell), and approximately 1.9 grams of cocaine.

Deines and Reynolds are in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $30,000 and $25,000 cash bail respectively.
