POUGHKEEPSIE – The sales tax exemption for the expansion of the Gap distribution center in Fishkill was set to expire at the end of the year, but because of the serious fire at the facility months ago, the company sought a two-year extension.
The Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency granted two more years through December 31, 2018, said IDA Chairman Charles Daniels.
“They are one of the largest private employers and we felt it important for them to get back on their feet as well as give them incentive to stay in the Hudson Valley,” Daniels said.
Governor Cuomo will be at the Gap facility this morning to make an announcement.
