Two robbers enter store early Sunday
MIDDLETOWN – Police in Middletown continue to search for two men,
both armed with handguns, who held up the overnight clerk at the CITGO
gas station/store at 220 Dolson Avenue around 2 a.m. Sunday.
They made off with cash from the register before fleeing on foot on County
Route 78 in the direction of Sutton Hill Apartments.
One robber was described as being black, in his mid-20s to mid-40s, six
feet tall, 200 pounds and wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt covered by
a black coat. He had a blue scarf covering his face and wore a white glove
on his left hand and a black one on his right hand. He wore black sweatpants
with stripes on the legs, similar to Adidas sweats, and black sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, five-feet,
nine inches to five feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.
He wore a black hooded sweatshirt that was pulled up over his face. The
sweatshirt had a white draw string. He wore black pants and white sneakers.
Middletown Police said it appears the first man to enter the store had
a black backpack on, but at some point, the second man had it. The backpack
was not left at the scene.
