ALBANY – Jack Hayes is running on the Conservative line against
Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, the Democrat-Independence Party incumbent.
Hayes, a former Gardiner town supervisor and Ulster County legislator, said it is time for “business as usual” to end and that can be accomplished by term limits and campaign finance reform.
“I would go for term limits and campaign finance reform in a heartbeat; it is just very, very needed,” he said. “You only have to look at people’s campaign finances and see who is supplying all the money and too often, it is big corporations, that are probably expecting something in return.”
There is no Republican candidate.  Hayes had planned on running on the Republican line but was knocked off due to a technicality with his petition filing.
