Bronx man charged in Putnam with drug possession

TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A Bronx man has been arrested after he was observed acting in a suspicious manner while in a side parking area of a gas station in the Town of Southeast.
When members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit investigated, they learned he was parked there at 8 p.m. on September 24 for the purpose of selling narcotics.
Jeffery Gomez, 27, was found in possession of 40 baggies of heroin, 34 Alprazolam pills, $600 in cash and several cell phones.  He was charged with two felony counts criminal possession of a controlled substance.  He is in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.
If found guilty of the most serious felony charge, Gomez could face up to 25 years in state prison.
