Kingston Police look for fatal hit-and-run driver

KINGSTON – Police in Kingston
are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver
of a minivan that is believed to have dragged a woman for a short distance
before she fell to the ground, striking her head causing serious injuries.
Ashlee Crescione, 23, of Kingston, died at Albany Medical Center on September 23, three days after the incident.
The police investigation revealed that Crescione and a man were involved in a dispute in the area of Bruyn Avenue near Elmendorf Street at about 4:22 p.m. on September 20.  At some point, the man went to his parked vehicle, a gray minivan, possibly with tinted windows, and started to drive away. Crescione was dragged until she fell off striking her head.
The man is described as white, possibly in his 20s or early 30s, with dirty blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and wearing a white t-shirt.
Assisting Kingston Police in the investigation are the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office and State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Investigations Unit.
