KINGSTON – Safety measures were put in place at four Kingston school
buildings after officials were alerted to a possible threat on Wednesday
morning.

The four buildings involved were Kingston High School, Ulster BOCES, the
Edson Elementary School and Bailey Middle School.

After a thorough and extensive search of the campus, Kingston High School
was declared safe by the Kingston Police Department and students resumed
normal class schedules.

Meanwhile, the police were advised by the school district that there was
a suspicious person in the area of Edison Elementary School and Bailey
Middle School. Both schools were placed in a precautionary lockout. A
lockout recovers all students from outside the building, secures the building
perimeter and locks all outside doors.
All students and staff were safe and building operations resumes on
a normal school, district officials said.

Police continue to investigate all of the incidents.
