WHITE PLAINS – A Mount Vernon woman was sentenced in Westchester
County Court on Tuesday to 25 years in state prison for running over and
killing her rival in a relationship.

Carla Scott, 36, was convicted on July 25 of manslaughter and leaving
the scene of an accident that results in a death.

Late in the afternoon on April 18, 2015, Scott was parked at the corner
on Warburton and Babcock avenues in Yonkers. While Glynis Pinto was standing
in front of Scott’s car, she hit the gas and struck Pinto, throwing
her onto the car’s hood. She continued to drive with Pinto hanging
onto the hood for about 30 yards until Pinto was thrown backwards onto
the road. Both wheels on the right side of the car ran over the victim,
causing several fractures and internal injuries causing her death.

Scott was arrested on April 22, 2015 after a joint investigation by the
Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, Yonkers Police and
the FBI.
