TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A man, who was blowing leaves on Pressler Road near his home in the Town of Newburgh on Saturday afternoon was struck and killed by a passing car.
Michael Jordan, Jr., 69, who lived not far from the scene, was hit by a car driven by an 86-year-old man. Jordan later died at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.
The elderly man drove off and went to his son-in-law to report he thought he hit a deer. When the son-in-law went back to the scene and saw police activity, he reported it to them.
Police Chief Bruce Campbell said no charges have been filed against the driver and he does not expect any in the future.
