POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency continues to fine tune its local labor policy, which would require a certain percentage of workers on a construction project that receives incentives to be from the Mid-Hudson Valley area.
The agency has yet to vote on the final document, but Chairman Charles Daniels said they have set a minimum value on projects that would be required to follow the policy.
“Projects under $10 million, we felt it would be imposing too rigorous of regulations on small businesses and felt that the current policy of encouraging applicants to use local labor would suffice,” Daniels said.
The policy under development is following much the same path as that which the Orange County IDA adopted several months ago.
