MONTICELLO – A Sullivan County grand jury indicted a Bethel husband and wife on two counts each of criminal possession and criminal sale of a controlled substance as well as criminally using drug paraphernalia.
The indictment alleges that Randolph Dauch and Rhandye Dauch, both 61, of White Lake, possessed over 3,900 individually wrapped bags of heroin weighing over a half ounce and that they had the drug with the intent to sell it.  It is also alleged they possessed a scale used to measure the drugs.
The crimes allegedly occurred in their home on Route 17B on September 14 when they were arrested. Rhandye Dauch was also charged with selling 10 bags of heroin to another person on February 11 and that Randolph Dauch sold heroin to another person on September 14.
District Attorney James Farrell said they were taken into custody following an investigation conducted jointly by the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Teal, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, State Police at Liberty, Bethel Constables and District’ Attorney’s Office.
Both remain in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail each.  If convicted, they face up to nine years in state prison on heroin possession charges and up to an additional nine years on the heroin sales charges.
