Ulster deputy sheriff drowns in diving exercise

TOWN OF OLIVE – An Ulster County deputy sheriff drowned today (Thursday)
during diver training at the Ashokan Reservoir in the Town of Olive.

The victim may have suffered a medical issue while in the water, sources
told Mid-Hudson News.

Dive teams initially searched the water for a report of an officer missing.
CPR was performed before he was rushed to a Kingston hospital where sources
said he was pronounced dead.
