Felon charged with possession of weapons, marijuana garden

MONTICELLO – A Grahamsville man with a prior felony conviction
has been arrested on charges of weapons possession and unlawfully growing
cannabis.

Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty said a warrant search at 4 Van
Drive in Grahamsville on Friday resulted in the arrest of Gregory Meyers,
59, and the discovery of a marijuana garden with 14 mature plants.
He was also charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana. The
total weight of the pot that was recovered was some 3.5 pounds.

Deputies also found that he had several rifles and shotguns and was charged
with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Meyers was arraigned before Fallsburg Town Judge Amanda Ward and sent
to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by US Homeland Security Investigations.
