Chenier
KINGSTON – Mayor Steven Noble appointed Joseph Chenier to serve as superintendent of the City of Kingston Department of Public Works. He is currently an assistant civil engineer having worked for the City of Poughkeepsie for over 15 years.
Chenier is a resident of Kingston and will start on his new job on September 19.
Noble said Chenier will lead the department in addressing concerns that
are not exclusive to his city.
“As we have seen in the City of Kingston, we suffer from the same
infrastructure problems that other cities around the region do, and I
think what we have been able to do is be proactive. We have been implementing
some relatively major projects,” the mayor said. “Our goal
is to nip some of those major projects in the bud before they really get
bsf. What that means is you need really good routine maintenance.”
Noble said Chenier has extensive experience in program administration, construction management, budget and contract oversight, project review and reporting, and supervision of field personnel, including DPW sewer, parks and street department crews.
