Sexual assault suspect believed involved in three attacks

NEW PALTZ – Police are looking for a Hispanic man, about five feet, nine inches to six feet tall, with a medium build, in his 20s, in connection with three sexual assaults in New Paltz.
Police investigated an assault in the Village of New Paltz at about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 4, and detectives learned of two other similar incidents that occurred at other apartments in the village. In the Sunday incident, police said the suspect entered the female college student’s off-campus apartment while she was sleeping in her bedroom. He sexually assaulted her, but she was able to fend him off and he fled.
In the two other incidents in village apartments, the suspect encountered residents and fled.

New Paltz Police are being assisted in the investigation by SUNY New Paltz Police, the Ulster County SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Unit and State Police.
