Bat-wielding bandits hit Saugerties hotel bar/restaurant

SAUGERTIES – Police in Saugerties have one man in custody and are looking for two others in connection with the robbery of staff members at the Diamond Mills Hotel Bar/Restaurant on August 22.
Police said the men forced their way into the restaurant at 11 p.m. and threatened the manager and other employees. One suspect was armed with a baseball bat as they damaged property in the bar.
Police later identified two of the suspects as Cameron Turner and Jamel Carlton. Felony arrest warrants were secured for both men and on August 31, Turner was located and arrested. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond on a charge of felony burglary.
Carlton is still being sought and anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Saugerties Police at 845-246-9800. All calls will be kept confidential.
Police did not provide any information about the third suspect.
