BETHEL – The FAA has awarded Sullivan County $481,200 for an infrastructure
improvement at the county airport in Bethel.

The funds will be used to install an emergency generator to provide power
to the runway lighting system in the event of a power outage.

The funds will also support the installation of a new runway guidance
system, which will include a precision approach path indicator to make
the airport more accessible by improving approaches to the runway ends.

Sullivan County Airport serves private and corporate aircraft.

US Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced the grant.
