TOWN OF NEWBURGH – One of the last remaining parcels of commercial
land along Union Avenue (Route 300) in the Town of Newburgh will be redeveloped.
A vacant, former truck depot is being demolished to make way for two new businesses, said real estate broker Richard Lease.
“Mavis Tire is developing this piece and they have approval for their own retail facility and they are doing a deal with Mr. [George] Banta for a Buffalo Wild Wings. They also have the right to put a medical facility building up on this same parcel,” Lease said. “This is a good indication that the town is very cooperative in getting maximum density out of commercial property.”
Newburgh Town Supervisor Gilbert Piaquadio said Union Avenue a primary
retail business corridor.  “This is like our main street; if
the town had a Main Street, this would be our main street,” he said.
Construction on the new project is expected to begin shortly.
