POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro has asked
residents to assist in relief efforts in Louisiana following the massive
flooding that has occurred in that area.
Thousands have been displaced with many people left with only the clothes
on their backs.
“The devastation in Louisiana is one of the worst natural disasters
to hit the United States, causing thousands of Louisiana residents to
lose their homes, while some have lost their lives,” he said. “Let’s
do what we can to help our fellow citizens in need during this critical
condition.”
Several organizations including United Blood Services, the Salvation
Army, the United Way, and Samaritan’s Purse, among others, are collecting
donations, supplies and other services to help those in need.
