Cregan family, from GoFundMe page

WEST SHOKAN – Members of the Creagan family of West Shokan set up a GoFundMe account in hopes of raising $15,000 to cover medical bills and funeral expenses following a tragic fatal accident in Ohio last Sunday. As of this morning, the account collected pledges of over $31,000.
Killed in the crash was Madison Creagan, 14, of West Shokan.
Ohio State Police said the local family was in a pickup truck, one of 10 vehicles traveling in a construction zone on the Ohio Turnpike in Groton Township in Erie County.  A tractor trailer failed to maintain safe distance, slamming into the other nine vehicles.  Reports also say the truck was in a lane prohibited to commercial vehicles.
The truck driver, Chavan Roosevelt Carter, 40, of Powder Springs, Georgia, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and traffic control device violation.  Bond for Carter was set at $100,000.
A post on the family’s GoFundMe page said the Creagan family was on their way home from vacation when the crash occurred. The post said Madison’s “little brother Justin is fighting for his life in critical condition. Also in the vehicle were their father, Barry, future stepmother Rebecca, and future stepsister Lilyana.
