Two teens arrested for burglarizing Lady of Mount Carmel Society

CORTLANDT – State Police charged two Verplanck teens with breaking into Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Verplank and stealing an undetermined amount of money and several cans of beer from the non-profit Italian American club.
At 5 a.m. on July 16, the two broke into the center. Two days later, troopers arrested Miguel Reyes, 18, and charged him with felony burglary. The following day, Benjamin Knowles, also 18, was arrested on charges of felony burglary and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.
Reyes is in the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Knowles was released on his own recognizance.
