WHITE PLAINS – A former speech and drama teacher at Horace Greeley
High School in Chappaqua pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Thursday
to three counts of endangering the welfare of a child as misdemeanors.
Christopher Schraufnagel, 41, of New York City, admitted to subjecting
two of the three victims to sexual contact.

From May 2011 to June 2015, he engaged in several instances of sexual
assault, inappropriate sexual conduct and contact with three of his under
age students at the school.

Under the terms of the proposed plea agreement, he will face three years
of probation with sex offender conditions that will include work, residency
restrictions as well as sex offender treatment.

Schraufnagel will also be required to surrender his state teaching certificate.

He will be sentenced in November.
