WHITE PLAINS – A man, who caused the death of his girlfriend’s
2 ½-year-old daughter, was sentenced to 12 years in state prison.

Carlton Brown, 32, of the Bronx, previously pled guilty to manslaughter
in the death of Kali Mack.

On August 31, 2014 at 9:30 p.m., Brown called 911 to report a child in
dress. When emergency services arrived, he told firefighters that she
fell off the bed.

The child was taken to the hospital where she died three days later.

An autopsy revealed the little girl had suffered abusive head trauma and
ruled her death as a homicide.

In court, Brown admitted to subjecting the child to blunt force trauma
on her head and forcibly shaking her body causing her to sustain abusive
head trauma, retinal hemorrhages and causing her death.
