GOSHEN – This year Orange County has allocated $1 million to promote
tourism in the county.
The county earns about $3 million a year in hotel room tax.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus wants to spend more each year to attract visitors.
“We are going to continue to grow things like the air show (at Stewart Airport), the Farm to Fork Fondo, the Orange County fireworks show that we do every year, as well as all the other festivals and promotions we have around the county,” the county exec said.
As room tax increases, Neuhaus wants to reinvest more into promoting the county’s many tourist attractions.
