Woman arrested for falsely claiming wallet lost with credit card used at casino

WAPPINGERS FALLS – A Wappingers Falls woman has been arrested and charged with making a false report that her wallet with a credit union debit card was lost.
Stephanie Kelly-Sambuco, 32, told Wappingers Falls Village Police that she lost her wallet containing her Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union car at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.  She also told police there were unauthorized withdrawals on her debit card at Mohegan Sun casino amounting to $9,927. Her account was provisionally credit while local police conducted an investigation with the Mohegan Tribal Police Department and it was determined Kelly-Sambuco had made the cash withdrawals.
Kelly-Sambuco was charged with making a sworn false statement as a felony.  She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Wappingers Falls Village Court.
Credit union and tribal police said further charges are pending.
