MONTGOMERY – A crash on Interstate 84 west near Maybrook early Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of one person and injured several others.
The crash occurred at around 12:40 p.m.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that a tractor-trailer approaching a construction zone in an unsafe speed struck several vehicles, two of which were pushed under a second tractor-trailer,” said State Police Troop F Commander Major Joseph Tripodo.
People trapped in their cars under the truck were extricated and transported to Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh and Westchester Medical Center.
