BUCHANAN — Indian Point Unit 2 nuclear power plant was returned to service
Thursday afternoon, sending electricity to the grid.
The unit had been shut down automatically Wednesday morning while technicians
were testing electrical systems.
There was no release of radioactivity and no effect on public or worker
health or safety as a result of the shutdown, Entergy officials said.
Equipment operated as designed and control room operators responded as
expected during the shutdown, they noted.
