MID-HUDSON – The Scotchtown
Avenue Bridge in Hamptonburgh is closed from today, Wednesday, June 22,
until July 1 as final construction is performed to reconnect County Route
83 – Scotchtown Avenue – to the bridge.  It is anticipated
that the bridge will be fully opened to two-way traffic, for the first
time in years, as early as the first week of July.  During the closure,
normal through traffic using that portion of the road should use alternate
routes or signed detour routing that will use Stony Ford and Hill roads.
In Dutchess County, work will begin to reconstruct a portion of Middlebush Road – CR 93 – between Pleasant Lane and Carneli Drive in the Town of Wappinger, around June 27. The work will be performed to realign the curves to enhance safety and ridability. During construction, Middlebush Road will be closed to westbound traffic in the project area and a detour route will be posted. Motorists will be able to travel eastbound on Middlebush Road to Route 9. Residents will continue to have access to their properties along Middlebush Road throughout the construction process.
