KINGSTON – For the first time, Kingston youths who could not afford
to go to the city’s summer camp will be able to enjoy the summer
there at no cost.
Mayor Steven Noble announced that when camp starts in one week, on June
27, it will be available for free to Downtown and Midtown children.
“We will be busing our Hodge Center youth, 55-plus kids, from Midtown
to Hutton Park and they will have free summer camp. Just like the rest
of the kids in our community that have gotten us to having a seven-week
summer camp, all of our youth will have access whether you can afford
it or not, we will be providing it to them,” he said.
This first time inclusive program will be funded with community development
money, Noble said.
