MAHOPAC – A skateboarder, who was not wearing a helmet when he collided with a vehicle in Mahopac, remains in Westchester Medical Center with a severe head injury.
Carmel Police said the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on Monday, June 6 at Kia Ora Boulevard and Brookside Road.
Investigators believe the involved vehicle was westbound on Kia Ora and as it crossed the intersection of Brookside Road, the skateboarder collided with her car. Police said it is believed the pedestrian was travelling straight ahead, south on Brookside and entered the intersection without obeying the stop sign.
No charges were filed against the driver.
State Police assisted Carmel Police with the accident reconstruction.
