Suffern man charged with assaulting woman in Monsey woods

SUFFERN – A Suffern man has been charged with assault, strangulation
and criminal contempt, all as felonies after an alleged attack on a woman
in a wooded area behind the former Rockland Drive-In Theater on Route
59 in Monsey.

The incident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 28. The 24-year-old
victim was treated and released from Good Samaritan Hospital’s emergency
room.

The woman said she knew the suspect and she could identify him. As a result
of an investigation, Ramapo Police arrested Emmanuel Jean Tenemille, 43,
and charged him.

He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
