Yonkers man sentenced in fatal shooting

WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man will spend 25 years to life in state prison after a jury conviction in the shooting death of another man in Yonkers.
Pedro Delacruz, 26, was found guilty of murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting death of Victor Fitzgerald in July 2013. He was found wounded in a parking lot behind a Riverdale Avenue building. He was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later.
Following sentencing in Westchester County Court on Tuesday, Delacruz was returned to the custody of the state corrections department.
