CATSKILL – A Freehold man was arrested and charged with rape in connection with an incident involving an underage girl that occurred in the Village of Athens in November 2015.
State Police charged Joseph Andretta, 19, with rape in the first degree and criminal sexual act, both as felonies and endangering the welfare of a child as a misdemeanor. He is in the Greene County Jail without bail.
Andretta, who was 18 at the time, is alleged to have had sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl last November.
State Police were assisted in the case by village police in Athens and Catskill and the Greene County Probation Department and District Attorney’s Office.
