CORTLANDT – SCUBA divers continue to search the Hudson River near the Bear Mountain Bridge following a report of a man who had jumped off the bridge Sunday evening.
State Police at Cortlandt said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 27-year-old Pomona man had stopped his vehicle in the driving lane and jumped over the southern railing of the bridge into the Hudson.  The tentative victim identification was made by evidence recovered from the victim’s car.  The investigation into the apparent suicide is continuing.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, State Park Police, Continental Village Fire Department and Fort Montgomery Fire Department.
